In addition to teaching, I spend my days creating tableware for restaurants, bars, and anyone who loves handmade beauty. I’ve gained quite a bit of experience and have made thousands of plates and mugs that are used daily.

In this six-day workshop, I’ll teach you the ins and outs of creating functional ware in series. You’ll start by planning the number of pieces, their shape, and dimensions. We’ll discuss your ideas during the workshop, and then you’ll get to work. The first days we will focus on plates and other low, flat forms such as pasta dishes and small dishes. After that, we’ll move on to cups and bowls. In the last two days, we’ll trim everything and ensure a cohesive final product.

Once everything is bisque-fired, you’ll return for the glazing day. You’ll work with wax and glazes. I create and maintain all the glazes at Kom Moi, so you’ll have a choice of 10 beautiful colors to complete your tableware.

I will provide everyone with the best tools, such as bats and professional measuring tools from Julius Handmade (see photo), so you have everything you need to create perfect series.

A maximum of 10 participants will be admitted, ensuring very personalized guidance and allowing everyone to learn at their own pace.

  • This workshop is not suitable for beginners. You must be proficient in centering and pulling up, and you should have good control over the clay. When asked, "What are you going to make?" you shouldn’t answer, "I’ll see where the clay takes me."

Handling large weights is definitely not a requirement; tableware is typically made with a maximum of 1.3 kg of clay, with most pieces using much less. You don’t need prior experience with production work, but you should have a strong sense of perseverance, be willing to focus on a single form, be motivated to work diligently, and be able to work intensively at the wheel throughout the day.
