One Day, One Mission: Pull up and Cut through! Redistributing clay through the wall from bottom to top is the most crucial and challenging step in pottery. It remains a challenge, especially as you start working with more clay. So, it’s time to practice this thoroughly once again. Today, we will not be keeping any pieces! We’ll start with small practice cylinders of 600 grams and gradually work up to larger weights. I’ll guide you on the appropriate height and diameter for each clay weight. Since we’re not keeping any pieces and the result isn’t as important, you’ll be able to work more freely and effectively. We’ll push the clay to its limits and literally get the most out of it.
Back to basics
You have experience with throwing. You can already center and pull up, but you feel like you're still leaving clay at the bottom. You want to push your limits and become a better potter.
